TECHNICIAN (CAT) COURSE
The Institute
of Cost and Works Accountants of
India (ICWAI) is a statutory body established by
an Act of Parliament i.e. the Cost and Works
Accountants Act, 1959 (23 of 1959).
ICWAI
has introduced a course of Accounting
Technicians (CAT) for one year duration for 12th
(10+2) passed and Graduates in consultation with
Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India,
to meet the increased demand for accountants at
junior level in India. The CAT course has been
designed to equip the candidates with the
knowledge of maintenance under Companies Act,
Filling of Returns under Income Tax, VAT,
Service Tax, Central Excise and Custom Act,
Export and Import documentation etc
.
OBJECTIVE
To develop
among the students the necessary skills are required to
apply theoretical knowledge of accounting to practical
situations in different functional areas of accounting.
Exposure to
environment under which different organizations work.
To provide
on-job-experience of practical aspects of Accounting.
To develop
disciplined attitude required to become an Accountant.
SCOPE
Student after passing CAT course and after Computer and
Practical Training and Orientation Training, will
acquire necessary skills to take up employment as Junior
